Lady Bea’s English Tea House: Reviews & Ratings
We had afternoon tea and it was delicious! $52 for 5 sweets, 5 savories, and 2 scones with clotted cram and 2 different types of jam. Their tea selection is huge! Really delicious high tea but the service was SO SLOW. The server was very pleasant but never came back to our table after serving our food so our waters ran out, she never refilled the hot water for our tea, or asked how the food was. However, I think she was the only one working which is unfortunate as it was quite busy at lunch time which is to be expected for a restaurant who does afternoon high teas downtown during the week.
I brought my adult nieces to Lady Bea’s for afternoon high tea. The restaurant is cozy and lovely with lots of special touches such as rose shaped napkins in the tea cups and flowers in the small bird cages and fresh flowers on the table. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, his tea recommendations were spot on (mine turned from blue to pink with a lemon slice!). We received a large variety of delicious and beautifully presented savoury and sweet treats along with yummy scones. There is parking onsite and patio seating for warmer days. We will definitely return to this delightful and elegant new tea shoppe!
Lady Bea's was a wonderful experience. Their tea list is extensive and offers an extensive selection of caffeine-free and caffeinated options. The scones were a true highlight and we enjoyed the clotted cream and jam served alongside. I enjoyed the savory menu selection while one of my dining companions enjoyed both savory and sweet options. The desserts looked divine and the savories were delicious. Our server was warm and very friendly. The atmosphere was cozy and enhanced by the holiday decor. I did find the room a touch loud when a larger group joined our space. Overall a wonderful experience and we are eager to return for scones and tea!
My daughter and I really enjoyed this experience as it was our first time here! Lady Bea’s is very lovely with different experiences to choose from and seasonal choices. Our waiter was very friendly and took us through each experience. He was very attentive during the whole time. My favorite was the scones with clotted cream and the passion fruit curd! Yum! All of the sandwiches were savory and delicious. The desserts were decadent! And the Tea! So many to choose from. I had a black tea called Rhubarb cream my daughter had the Raspberry Cream a rooibos! Can’t wait to come back!
My mother and I came out on a Sunday for the brunch experience. It was absolutely delightful! We were celebrating my birthday and I got a little packet of pumpkin pie tea to go home with. The brunch special is the same as the afternoon tea (2 scones, 5 favorites, and 5 sweets), with the addition of a bowl of fruit. The food was delicious. One of my favourites was the acorn squash tart. The ambience was perfectly suited to a tea experience. We were in the large room on the main floor. The plates, cups and teapots are all mismatched which just add to the charm. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. If you are looking for an affordable yet elevated tea experience in Edmonton, check out Lady Bea's!
We had a lovely tea experience at Lady Bea’s. The tea house had very nice Victorian themed decor and classical music playing. It really set the right mood. The cups and cutlery were very cute. The food was good, and I really liked that there were options for different tea “experiences”. If you didn’t want both the sweet and savoury treats, there was the option to get one or the other. I also liked that you could add things on to your order, such as extra sweet or savoury items. The portions seemed small, but we left feeling quite full and even took some food home. The tea was really good! I had the Crime of Passion Tea and my sister had the Double Cream Earl Grey. There was also the option to buy loose leaf or bagged tea to take home. It was a great deal at $8 for 50 grams. Our server Caitlyn was friendly. All in all we had a great time and I would come back again.
Loved everything about the whole experience, the place was beautiful on the inside, fresh flowers on the tables, and so many cute items displayed. There are a few options to choose from, we got the afternoon tea experience which included sweet and savory options for both of us. The tea was perfection and each delightful tasty treat was better than the last. We left happy, and full. It may seem expensive, but the experience made it worth it.
Ever since the Rutherford House stopped offering tea service, I've been hoping someone in Edmonton would step in to fill that void. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing afternoon tea. The food was absolutely delicious, and the cherry curd was a standout—I had never tried it before and it was truly divine. My only gripe was that the clotted cream, cherry curd, and preserves—were quite insufficient for 4 orders of the tea experience. A more generous portion would have made it perfect. Very kid friendly
